What Causes Sore And Raw Skin Around The Intergluteal Cleft?

I have scratched my butt crack area (topleft inside). I put powder one night, benadryll one night, cortisone two nights, and now neosporin 3 nights. It still burns a little but it is not healing. It now looks like it is a raw small patch of skin. Im unsure what to do because its uncomfortable at times when sitting. How can i heal this quickly. It does not itch. It is red though.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest you to use the Bacitracin ointment to avoid any superimposed secondary bacterial infections on the split skin.

Do not use toilet paper when done, instead use water and do not rub the area roughly.

Dry the area with a soft towel, dabbing it dry and not rubbing it.

Apply the bacitracin ointment thereafter.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
