About 4 weeks ago I had very sore and tender lymph nodes in my neck and was coughing up Plummer. For the last 2 weeks I have been having pain in my upper jaw and also the back of my tongue near the back of my throat is quite sore near where my jaw is sore! Any suggestions.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Neck lymph nodes are usually enlarged due to local infection. These nodal swellings usually take time to resolve completely even after clearance of infection.
Advice
1.     Azithromycin 500 mg orally daily for 5 days
2.     Ibuprofen 600 mg per oral after meal if pain is unbearable. Otherwise avoid it
3.     Gargle with chlorhexidine mouth wash daily 5 – 6 times daily
4.     Avoid smoking, alcohol and cold
5.     Investigations – ESR, CBC, and Hb%
Thanks
