What Causes Sore, Dry And Itchy Lips?

Hello, I was hoping to get some feedback on something weird happening with my lips. They are currently really sore and have a layer/coating that makes my lips feel dry. Not quite chapped, just dry and itchy. If I rub them to get the dark layer off they swell and burn and there seems to be a rash all over my lips. Any ideas?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

It may be solar cheilitis. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. I would recommend you to apply moisturizer cream combined with antibiotic and steroid cream. Take folic acid 5 mg tablet thrice a day. Avoid exposure to sun rays. Avoid contact with lipstick, tooth paste and soap or face wash. Avoid squeezing the lip. Do not rub tongue on lip.

Hope this helps.
