Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 11 year old son had high fever and headache for two days with sore throat. After two days of that , taking Tylenol, the headache and fever went away but left side of throat is severely swelled and now his left ear is sore and he cant here out of it and its aching. Whats wrong with him?
I have read your question in detail and will try to help you in the best way possible.
That could be an infection. It gonna be very important to start antibiotics. If he was my patient I would do a blood workup and do a rapid strep test as that is common in this age group. And it could lead to rheumatic heart diseases. Ear infection could be due to the throat infection spreading there.
I hope this answered all your queries, if you have more queries,I will be happy to answer.
Wish you the best of health.
Regards.
