Hi,
Quick answer- You can help yourself! :-)
From your description, I could make out that you have got a big
bruise (a collection of blood) under your skin that could have occured because of excess weight lifting. This excess weight puts pressure on your muscles and from there it could pass on to the blood vessels causing there rupture.
Generally normal bruise gets well in few days to a couple of weeks as soon as the blood and exudations get absorbed within.
At home you treat it with-
Rest. Dont put weights on it and provide maximum rest atleast till pain, tenderness and soreness is present.
Put ice for 15-20 minutes at a time for first two days of
injury.Don't forget to put a towel or wash cloth between the ice and your skin.
If possible keep the affected area elevated, above the heart region to prevent more pooling of blood.
After two to three days you can even apply a heat pack or warm cloth to the area.
For pain and tenderness you can take pain killers available.
In homoeopathy, Arnica 30, 4globules, t.d.s. could be safely taken for quick absorption of bruise and ease the pain.
Arnica ointment for local application can also be used.
If you encounter
fever or the bruise gets worse ( which can be a very very rare occurence) consult a doctor immediately.

Dr. Raavi
