What Causes Sore Lips After Using Fluorouracil Cream?
I have been using fluorouracil cream on my face for 2 weeks. I began to get a sore on my lip which is now along my upper and lower lip and shows as red and slightly swollen. I also have some rawness inside my upper and lower lip and the tip of my tongue. My lips and mouth have been very dry. Other than stopping the medication (last taken this am), what should i do?
Hi Thanks for posting your query on HCM. I have read and understood your concern. Among the side effects of Fluorouracil , Skin irritation, abnormal taste in the mouth have been described.Sore lips may be as a result of lip irritation from this drug. However, other conditions that may cause sore lips like buccal herpes should also be eliminated.I will advise you see your Doctor for examination. Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns. Best regards
