What Causes Sore Lump On Head Post Injury?

Four days ago I hit the right side of my head very hard on a bathtub. It s around the temple/upper ear area. It is swollen and very sore. I went to the ER Sunday morning and they took X-Rays and showed no broken bones, just soft tissue damage. They sent me home with pain pills and told me to rest. I feel fatigued, but getting a little better. The lump is still on the side of my head and sore.. Should I go to my General Family Dr. for more advice?

Welcome at HCM
I have gone through your query and being your physician i completely understand your health concerns.
what is ur age?Any other associated problem? like diabetes or hypertension?
based upon the history u have provided , it is a post traumatic swelling. Actually inflammatory process peaks after 24 hrs of initial insult. you need to stay calm and stick to the medicines. this swelling will disappear slowly...it will take atleast week to resorb.
Meanwhile stay calm , continue with your routine chores and use acetaminophen to relieve pain
Get well soon
Hope your query is adequately addressed if you still have any feel free to ask
Regards
