What Causes Sore Muscles In Shoulders And Back And Night Sweating?

several adults at a house remodeling project have had the same symtoms over a course of several weeks. first the homeowner who is helping and present everyday had sore muscles in back and shoulder, night sweat!, tiredness. next my wife, the painter, tired, with upper arm muscle and shoulder blade pain. i experienced back and leg pain, night sweat early on, tiredness. we are in are 60s. in talking the 2 electricians said they had the same symtoms. they are in their 20s. at first we blamed physical excersion and treated with aleve and aspercream. still experiencing aches that move around the body and return in a day or 2. appetites are good, no rash, no headache. thanks for your help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is important to check your temperature at least every day to check of temperature reaches 37.5C or not. If temperature is above 37.5C but lasts only a few days (less then 5 days) then a viral infection can be the cause of the pains and night sweats.

If temperature reaches 37.5C and above and is there repeatedly or for longer then 5 days then you will need to have a visit with a doctor to rule out infection and the most important one is tuberculosis. It is a likely infection in elderly, staying together and causes night sweats and may also cause pains.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
