What Causes Sore Neck On The Right Side And Chin Pain?
My son had a sore neck on the right side and the next day his neck was fine but the pain was under his chin. It's been a couple days and the pain is still there. He woke up this morning and right under his chin is swollen and very sore. Especially when he drinks or yawns or we touch the spot. He doesn't have a fever and is still active but it's concerning.
As per your complain it seems that swollen right side of neck and right side of chin can be due to either of the 2 most common that can be either due to infection in salivary gland leading to pain and swelling while it can also be due to inflamed lymph nodes.
For confirmation of cause consult an oral physician or an ENT expert and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x-ray or MRI scan can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly. As of now you can give him anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and also do cool compresses over the swelling. Avoid touching the area repeatedly to prevent further increase in soreness and discomfort.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Honey Arora
