What Causes Sore Pimples In Anus And Rash On Hands On Children?

my 5 year old son has what appear to be large pimples around his anus. it is also very red. he is not complaining that it is itchy. but it is sore to wipe - even with a moist wipe. i have been putting diaper cream on for now to soothe, but it looks disconcerting... he also has a rash on the top of both hands - could be coincidence? or f similar cause?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

From the given history, it looks more like worm infestation.

It would have been better if we have an image of those lesions. Enterobius infection can cause anal lesion and skin lesion. He may require a course of deworming and hand hygiene is very important. I would advise you to follow with your pediatrician for deworming medicines and dose.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nirubhan Bharathy, Pediatrician
