What Causes Sore Reddened Swelling After Taking A Trigger Shot?

My wife and I have been going to the doctor for IUI. This month I took the trigger shot and had a reaction and was wondering what I should do. It is read a little bit swollen and warm and a little sore. Can you tell me what I can do to make it better? I did take a picture of it if I need to send it to you.

There are a few things to help.

Detailed:

Hello,

Thanks for Writing to Health Care Magic and putting trust in us regarding your Health related query.
I am Dr. Saleha and I have read your message in detail, I understand your concern and will try to help you in this.

Sometimes it's normal to get inflammatory reaction after a booster / trigger shot , it usually settles down by itself even if untreated but as it is painful so it's hard to wait for natural course of events to take place.
There are a few simple remedies which can help you make it heal quicker.

A) Icing it will help you very much in reducing the inflammation.
B) Take tablet Brufen twice a day it will help with pain and will also reduce inflammation.
C) Try not to put pressure on it.
D) It will take some more time and will get better soon.

Just take care that no pus is formed and the prick site is not infecting , there is nothing to worry about other than this.

I hope this answers your question. If you have more questions, I am happy to answer.
Wish you lasting health.

Regards.

Dr.Saleha Saeed.
