What Causes Sore Shoulder Along With Numbness In Fingers?
Hi, I am a 52 year old black female. I would say pretty good health. I do smoke, have a fibroid tumor. What I am having problems with is my right hand , fingers mainly are numb, so numb I can rub that hand together and it doesn t feel as though I feel any feelings, throbbing, red, kinda painfully. Also the shoulder also sore same right side. This has been going on a month now.
The nerves to the hands pass from the neck through areas of the shoulder and down the arm and forearm to the hands.
It is likely that the shoulder pain is linked to the numbness. It may indicate that there are nerves that are being compressed. An x ray of the neck and shoulder may be needed to look for a possible cause eg arthritis.
Nerve related pain is called neuralgia and there are medications that your doctor can use to help treat it eg amitriptyline, nortriptyline, tegretol, lyrica, gabapentin, cymbalta
I hope this helps
