What Causes Sore Spots On The Upper Back And At The Nape?

I have one spot on my upper back, A little right of bone at the base of the neck. It gets very sore, like I ve hit it on something. It only hurts in that one spot. There is no red marks, blisters, or rash of any kind. It just gets very sore most days. Could you tell me what this might be. I am a type 1 diabetic. I am a 41 year old female.ballardp
