What Causes Sore Throat After Taking Doxycycline Monohydrate?
I started taking Doxycycline Monohydrate yesterday. After my second pill this morning I began feeling really awful. Been like that all day. Seems to be a little better after 3 hour nap but don t feel good. Slight sore throat. What do I do? Could this be a reaction to the drug?
There may be sore throat due to Doxycycline Monohydrate. May be the dosage you are on, is little bit too much for you. You should also tell me why you have been advised of this antibiotic.
When your course (as advised by physician) will be finished, I hope this sore throat will go away.
If not, please do the followings: 1. Eat Honey 2. Ginger tea or ginger 3. Multivitamin supplements 4. Sleep
After you finished the course of antibiotic, it should go away.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
