Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sore Throat Along With Fatigue And Joint Ache?
I have had following symptoms last 3 days, sore throat first day, very fatigued, sleep all day, and weakness, 72 years old, no fever, blood pressure normal, joints very achy. I have noticed a more rapid heart rate last several days and am just wondering if Ester C or Sambucal could be causing either of these. On no prescribed medications. Medical status good except for fibromyalgia and osteoporosis.
Your symptoms are suggestive of a viral infection. Increased heart rate could be due to the stress on the body. It is unlikely to be due to the supplements. However, I'd like to err on the side of caution. I recommend: -A physician consult -An electrocardiogram and echocardiogram -Blood tests (complete blood count) -Monitor your temperature when your heart rate is high. Even a slight fever can increase your heart rate. Drink plenty of fluids and rest well. It. Can take up to 10-14 days to recover completely.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Shuba Hariprasad
