What Causes Sore Throat Along With Fever And Nausea?

My my husband had a sore throat four days ago and mild aches and minimal runny nose. Today ,now four days after the symptoms started he is feverish and shivery. His temperature is37.6. He feels nausea , l thought it was a cold because it started gradually but now l wonder if it is flu. He had the flu shot but it was rhe earlier one that covered three strains

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems like upper respiratory tract infection also known as COMMON COLD and not like Influenza (flu) as flu is characterized by high fever and other symptoms are also more exaggerated..

Nothing to worry as it is a Virus infection and completes its entire cycle and resolves within a week..

You can take antibiotics like Augmentin or Azithromycin for 5 days to prevent secondary Bacterial infection..
Take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen.
Decongestant like Pseudoephadrine (Sudafed) should be taken..
Mucolytics like Ambroxol helps in loosening phlegm and help in easy drainage..
Do steam inhalation..

If still there seems no relief consult a General Physician and get evaluated..
