What Causes Sore Throat Along With Stuffy Nose And Dizziness?
Hi, I fainted yesterday randomly and I have been sick with a sore throat and stuffy nose since last Sunday, and now I believe I have pink eye. I almost fainted again this morning, and was fine all day drinking a lot of fluids. Now I am dizzy again and have heart burn and my throat is hurting again, what should I do?
The viral upper respiratory tract infections generally last 1 to 2 weeks at the most in the majority of cases. Treatment would normally consist of fluids ,which you are already doing , along with rest , pain medication for the sore throat and decongestants for the nose.
Decongestants would be found in most cough/cold or allergy meds over the counter. Pain medication such as cataflam, naproxen or ibuprofen can help with the sore throat.
In terms of the eyes, repeated cleaning of any discharge would be helpful. If there is no improvement in a few days or any worsening, then it may be a bacterial infection requiring topical antibiotics.
I hope this helps
