Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have a mild sore throat and my tounge feel pasty and i have a new break out of fever blister on lip.... would i get the fever blisters on my tongue if i had oral sex. have new boyfried and he told me he had herpes but only after first contact ... is it him or me?
Noted the history and understood the concerns. Fever blisters on lips are called Herpes Simplex and are STD. If you are getting this repeatedly then it is pre-existing and thus from your side only.
If this has appeared for the first time then this is most probably from your new boyfriend. Blisters usually do not appear on the tongue.
So no worry. The coating on tough may be due to excessive milk, tea or coffee consumption or may be fungal too called as oral thrush.
If it is so get examined by your Doctor to have a proper diagnosis and have proper management.
Use condoms during sexual interaction of any sort. It is better t be safe. Also get STD status of you and your new boyfriend and act accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr T Chandrakant, General Surgeon
