What Causes Sore Throat And Chronic Cough?

My throat is sore and I am repeatedly coughing all night. My cough is dry and exhaustive. I have a tickle constantly in the back of my throat, this is eased somewhat when I drink cold water but not prevented. I have recently begun work decorating in an old house where dusty walls and carpets are being moved around. I have been wearing a mask. For the last week I have been living amongst these conditions without a mask unless working on decorating one of the rooms. My throat is sore and I cannot stop coughing it is disrupting my skeep

Hi,

I think this has to do with any allergic reaction to dust that is causing sinusitis.You can try to avoid exposure as much as possible. Rinse nose with saline water to eliminate antigens from airways and also rinse mouth and throat with saline water doing gargling or any oral disinfectant. Also can use antihistamines such Benadryl or Cetirizine.
