What Causes Sore Throat And Difficulty In Swallowing?
my daughter just moved into an apartment in the DC Virginia area few weeks ago...had to clean it up a lot. She is complaining of a sore throat with swollen lumps in it that are making it difficult to swallow and are painful. She went to a clinic, tested negative for strep, but wondering if her symptoms could be caused by mold.

It could be a viral infection. Did she take any over-the-counter antibiotics before going to the clinic for strep test. If so there are chances that test result come negative if antibiotics were started before testing.
