What Causes Sore Throat And Difficulty In Swallowing?
I feel like I swallowed something and it's stuck in my throat (however I did not). This is causing a sore throats and wanting to avoid eating. My Suprasternal notch is also sore to the touch. What is causing this and do I need to seek medical attention. Symptoms have been present for 5 days.
Understanding your concern. As per your query sore throat and difficulty in swallowing seems due to infection of upper respiratory tract which is spreading till larynx. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and rule out condition like strep throat and viral infection. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics penicillin or amoxicillin with decongestants and anti inflammatory medications. You should take preventive measures such as avoid large meals and take small and frequent meals. Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food substances , do warm saline rinses and carbonated beverages. You should drink plenty of water.
