General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Unfortunately, the symptoms that you have mentioned point out to an upper respiratory tract infection. I would recommend you to drink only warm water also a Luke warm salt water gargle twice a day would help soothe the throat. If you develop a fever or if the cough worsens you would need to see a doctor as you may require antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Haleema Yezdani, General & Family Physician
