Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a sudden sore throat and pain up into my ear. This has happened over the last two weekends after riding my bicycle in heavy smoke from wildfires I took some pain relievers and some NSAIDs The pain and apparently the information subsided overnight but I got up and took a drink of water and fluids started coming from my nose. Today at work I took a drink from a drinking fountain in the same thing happened again
Unfortunately, the symptoms that you have mentioned point out to an upper respiratory tract infection. I would recommend you to drink only warm water also a Luke warm salt water gargle twice a day would help soothe the throat. If you develop a fever or if the cough worsens you would need to see a doctor as you may require antibiotics.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Haleema Yezdani, General & Family Physician
