What Causes Sore Throat And Earache Along With Fever?
Two weeks, started with sore throat on left side only and then earache, slight fever one minute, then normal, had hard time swallowing at first. Checked for strep and ear all ok. D thistle doesn’t see problem. Taking antibiotic for over a week, ibpro, still have earache and fever up and down. Teeth ache. All only on left side. Slight swollen under chin on left.
Hello there, thank you for your query on healthcare magic. Your symptoms clearly indicate an infection most likely of bacterial origin. The source of infection is most likely the tonsils which has spread to your ear.The pain in the tooth could be referred pain. However, you do seem to have a bad case of infection and the antibiotic you are on is not working. You must get a throat swab and run it for culture and antibiotic sensitivity testing to identify the causative organism and the antibiotic it will respond to. Please visit your lab for the tests as soon as possible and meet up with your healthcare provider as you will need prescription medications. I hope this helps. Thank you for visiting healthcare magic.
