What Causes Sore Throat And Headaches?

my 9 year old son has had a sore throat and headaches since Monday, January 22. He is negative for influenza and strep (was tested 1/23 and 1/29). He started a fever 100.9 Mon 1/29 it increased only to 101. He has consistently complained of headaches and sore throat. Blood tests 1/29 ruled out Mono and a bacterial infection. White Blood cell count was down so Dr office said it looks like he s just fighting a virus. But, his headaches are getting worse and now he says everything tastes weird even water. I gave him 2 different cups and a new glass... He won t eat his favorite homemade soup b/c it tastes weird... I m at a loss
