What Causes Sore Throat And High Fever Along With Rashes On Cheeks?
Two days ago my son was very tired at school. He came home and complained of a soar throat. Then he had a fever in the evening of 101. Today he broke out with a rash on his cheeks, some on his hands and feet and on his arm. His fever broke yesterday morning. He was tested for strep and the flu - both negative.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you child have symptoms of sore throat and high fever along with rashes on cheeks which is because of streptococcal infection leading to strep throat. It is leading to granular pharyngitis.
Need not to worry. I would advise you to take few preventive measures such as do warm saline gargles on daily basis 3- 4 times a day. Take proper antibiotic course such as Levofloxacin for 5-7 days. Take anti-inflammatory drugs such as Sinarest as well.
Visit pediatrician once and get complete examination done. Go for blood tests and sputum test as well. You should do tepid sponging to avoid high fever. Avoid exposure to sunlight. You should drink plenty of fluids. Take supplements rich in vitamin B12 to booster immunity. Maintain proper oral hygiene.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
