What Causes Sore Throat And Pea-sized Lump On The Inside Of Throat ?
My tongue started hurting 24 hours ago. At that time i felt of it and discovered a pea size lump on the inside. Very painful to touch. I took advil and pain was better. Now it is still tender but not as painful. I also haVE A sore throat and a little achey. Could a virus cause this?

Hi,
This probably suggest acute pharyngitis. Many of these are viral and needs only supportive measures with analgesics. Continue advil 2-3 times a day for 3 days. Also do warm saline gargles and drink plenty of fluids. You will be fine by then. Kindly see your doctor if pain is not coming down in 3 days, or fever comes as we may need to add antibiotic then.
