What Causes Sore Throat And Swollen Lymph Nodes In The Neck?

I have had a sore throat for about a week and no other symptoms. Today i noticed that i have white spots in my throat, which i believe to be where my tonsils are. The lymph node on the front left side of my neck feels swollen but not painful to the touch. The research i ve done seems to point to strep throat, but i have no other symptoms.

Hi welcome to the health care magic

Here you are having acute pharyngitis or tonsillitis like presentation

Lymph node can be enlarged because of reactive enlargement

You will be prescribed anti-inflammatory drug like brufen and if inflammation severe short course steroid Also prescribed

Investigate with ASO titre and CBC

If bacterial infection present like that by raised ASO titre and high neutrophils than antibiotic course prescribed

Drink more water and hot water help in soothing

Take vitamin C lozenges

Take care

Consult physician or otorhinolaryngologist for examination
