What Causes Sore Throat And Swollen Lymph Nodes?

I went to Doctors a week ago..diagnosed with a rubbing of the lining of lungs. Chest X-ray clear, ekg clear, blood test clear. Now, my throat is sore, neck hurts, lymph nodes swollen and painful. Feels like something in my throat . Still pain in chest, right side. Still just a viral infection or something more?

Hello, Thanks for the query.
From the symptoms and signs that you described about sore throat, neck pain & lymph gland swelling, it appears to be pharyngo-tonsillar infection. As regards the problem with chest that needs to be further investigated, if "rubbing" still persists. That could be associated with the lung cover the pleura. For throat infection a course of oral antibiotics like Cefixime 200 mg twice a day for 5 to 6 days will cure it. Plus if need be paracetamol 500 mg may be taken for 3 to 4 times a day. Plus hot water with salt gargling twice a day will also help. Thanks.
