Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a sore on my tongue that is white in the middle, with pus, and a sore throat. Last Tuesday I went to dr and she said I had a canker sore on my tongue and gave me some heavy anti-biotics (don t know name) - to be take for two days. Tongue looked a LITTLE better, and I still had a sore throat. Last Thursday she gave me an inhaler and another RX for antibiotics. This is 5th day on those antibiotics, and I still have sore throat and hole on my tongue. I am also feeling dizzy from time to time....
It looks like you have a throat infection causing sore throat. It can be due to bacterial or viral throat infection..
A sore on tongue that is white in middle with pus can be an infected canker sore or an abscess due to infection..
So my suggestion to you is that along with antibiotics you should also take anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen. Do warm saline gargles and suck numbing lozenges like Cepacol.. You can also do antiseptic mouthwash gargles.. For sore on tongue apply antiseptic oral gel like Chlorohexidine.. Avoid spicy and irritant foods like sour and acidic foods.. Drink plenty of warm water and other warm fluids..
Hope you get well soon..
Regards.
