Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Your suspect to HIV positive is likely if you suspect yourself getting exposed to it in past. If the exposure to HIV positive person in last more than 3 months, you can do an
HIV test (HIV- 1 and HIV- 2
antibodies). If it is less than 3 months, it is better you should go for CD4 counts with HIV DNA PCR test and after completion of 3 months again do HIV-1 and HIV -2 antibody test.
Second likely is TB Infection. All these also likely to come in TB infection. You always need not present with a
cough for TB infection. So, for which you need proper diagnosis with
ultrasound (USG) of the neck for the swollen nodes and if required FNAC, chest X-ray, and blood work up.
The third possibility is you may have developed any viral infection with
acute pharyngitis. For which you need a physical examination with a general physician and blood work up like CBC, ESR, and throat swab C/S.
There is also likely for
typhoid fever with acute pharyngitis. So, need evaluation with typhi dot test for IgG and IgM.
Meanwhile, till the test results come, you can start with antibiotics,
Betadine gargling 3 times a day, Pre Pro Biotic, antipyretics if fever, antiallergic, and others.
So, it is better to visit a general physician in a clinic for proper evaluation to above possibilities and a proper treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
