What Causes Sore Throat, Nasal Drip With Fever, Itchy And Burning Eyes?

I ve never had issues with allergies but recently I have had severe itchy burning eyes and they are hard to keep open when it occurs. lasts for 20 to 30 minutes usually later in the day. Currently I have been dealing with a very sore throat but only on one side. Post nasal drip most likely however I have had a fever two nights in a row. I don t feel bad enough during the day to think it is the flu but I am unsure.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the symptoms or burning and severely itchy yes that are being difficult to open along with sore throat, post nasal drip and fever seems to be most probably due to viral infection while can also be due to sinus infection or allergic reaction..
But to confirm the exact cause you need to consult a General Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Throat swab culture, blood tests etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
In case if it is due to viral infection, then a supportive treatment can be given to you as the viral infection will resolve once the virus completes its cycle in human body..
You can therefore be advised to take anti allergics like Levocetrizine, a combination of Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen to reduce fever and a combination of decongestants like Phenylephrine amd mucolytics like Ambroxol for post nasal drip..
Steroid nasal inhalations and steam inhalation can also help..
In case of allergics a combination of anti allergics like Allegra or Benadryl and steroids along with allergic tests to rule out the exact cause of allergic reaction so that the exposure to the allergen can be prevented is to be done for relief..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
