What Causes Sore Throat Post Kissing A Girl?

Sure, I had kissed a girl the other night and this morning I woke up with a sore throat. I ve kissed her before and it happened last time too. But the sore throat only lasts for a day. I don t think it s mono because I ve looked up some of the symptoms of mono and I don t have them, just a minor sore throat. What could this be if anything serious? Also I ve gone on 3 dates where I ve kissed her and the first one I didn t get a sore throat, but the past 2 I have.

Hello,

You got sore throat after kissing the girl whom you have been dating. It has happened twice after you have kissed her. Kissing effectively transmits infection due to the saliva that may contain bacteria, viruses, and other germs. Avoid kissing or close contact with partners until they have recovered to avoid spreading the infection. Contact with their saliva, which can contain bacteria, viruses, and other germs can cause infection.

Since you have got it twice after kissing, get clinically examined by a GP. You can take antihistamine at bed time, if sore throat is triggered due allergy, it will go away. However, your physician may order cultures and a mono test, and if there is no abnormality based on these tests, then a cytologic analysis may be performed. You will have to get STD tests also.

Such symptoms are also caused by pharyngitis (sore throat), herpes simplex virus (HSV), Streptococcus bacteria, cytomegalovirus (CMV), Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), which can cause mono, Human papillomavirus (HPV), etc.

Throat symptoms that are from strep throat infection, pharyngitis, etc., will be treated with a course of antibiotics and analgesics if needed. If STI is detected you will be treated with antibiotics / antivirals and analgesics, etc. Get clinically evaluated and treated at the earliest. Stay hydrated and avoid smoking or addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
