What Causes Sore Throat, Stuffy Nose And Headache?

Hi. My 17 year old daughter had a sore throat for a few days last weekend. Wednesday night she started getting the stuffy nose. Yesterday she had the stuffy nose and had a headache and she said both sides of her jaw had needle like pain. It went away with advil and I gave her some robitussin for the sniffles and minor cough. We just found out that she has to get her wisdom teeth taken out because they are impacted. So I just want to make sure it isn t anything more serious. I looked up the symptoms online and meningitis came up and I was panicking. Any suggestions?

Hi,

These symptoms are very suggestive of viral flu. You are right meningitis is a dreadful problem which may present with a headache. However, these symptoms do not suggest meningitis. You should not worry about that.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
