What Causes Sore Throat, Stuffy Nose While On Tribuss?

Im hiv + since 2010 september and had never been sick. I currently in 2014/11/24 started taking Tribuss because I was emotionally ready. Ive always had sinus problem. A day ago I woke up with a sore throat, I took honey lozenges and my throat was clear.but now my nose is stuffy, temperature is fine, im not coughing either-must I worry?

Hi,

Tribuss contains tenofovir disoproxil fumarate 300 mg, emtricitabine 200 mg and efavirenz 600 mg that is used in the treatment of HIV infected patients. But like other medications this medication has some side effects of its own. Side effects are mood changes, sore throat, stuffy nose, sleep problems, vivid dreams, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, fatigue, anorexia, jaundice, dark urine and many more.

Usually these side effects will improve after the first few weeks of treatment. But if these side effects persist for long or bother you then you should consult your doctor first for medical attention.
