What Causes Sore Throat, Swollen Taste Buds And Dry Cough?
Hi i have a very sore throat, my throat hurts and is infected but i am wondering if it is normal for the taste buds in the back of my throat to be swollen, they dont hurt or anything but are swollen, and i have a dry cough. I saw the doc he said it seemed ok, normal sore throat, but im still concerned about the swollen taste buds any second opinions?
Swollen taste buds in back part of tongue are commonly seen due to close proximity of that portion of tongue to throat..
So do not worry about it..
I would suggest you to consult an ENT Physician and get evaluated and take proper treatment for the cause of sore throat and gradually the taste buds will regress in size..
As of now do warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and suck throat lozenges.. Take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen... Avoid spicy and hard foods... Drink plenty of warm fluids...
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
