What Causes Sore Throat, Swollen Uvula And Blood In Phlegm?
Hi, I have a very sore throat, extremely swollen uvula. Its so swollen that it gets pulled on when I swallow as it is touching my tongue. I also am expelling the most extremely thick and sticky brown and bloody mucus / phlegm from the back of my throat (i can see it sitting there after it accumulates for 15 min or so. It feels like it is glued to the back of my throat.) The mucus is also coming from my sinuses as I can suck it into my throat and painfully try to hock it out. Which further irritates my already painful swollen uvula. What can I do to treat this at home?
I read carefully your query and understand your concern. Your symptoms seem to be related to an upper respiratory tract infection. I suggest to to use anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen 3 times a day. I also suggest to use saline nasal spray for local application. I recommend of throat spray with anti-inflammatory properties. If the symptoms continue antibiotics may be needed. In this case I recommend argument him twice a day for a week.
Hope my answer was helpful.

Kind regards!
