Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sore Throat When Suffering From Enlarged Lymph Nodes?
Hi, I am a 52 YO female. Enlarged lymph nodes under my jaw for the last few days. These seem to be worse in the morning. Also experiencing a tickling cough, a very mild sore throat, and a tightness in the throat when I swallow. I wonder if I have a cold or if it could be something more serious.
The symptoms seem to be related to an upper respiratory tract infection. The enlarged lymph nodes are related to this condition. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day. I also suggest to drink liquids and use a throat spray.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
