What Causes Sore Throat While Suffering From Viral Pharyngitis?
My grand daughter was diagnosed with viral pharyngitis on saturday. I have had a sore throat for about three weeks. now today I am itching but see no rash. I am taking amoxcillan for it . also i have had a severe cough. I have also had a bad taste in my mouth, kinda like a penny tastes..

I would like to tell you , sore throat is chief symptom in patients with viral pharyngitis . Your symptoms sore throat, bad taste in mouth and sever cough are suggestive of Viral Pharyngitis.
It is advisable to take Ibrufen , Benzocaine Gargles and use of a antiviral meds. Amoxicillin will not help you much. Better to personally consult with your family physician for proper check up and written prescription.
