Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a had sore throat the last couple of days, mostly when swallowing, and today it has felt like it has gone into my ear and lymph node on the left side. I looked into my mouth, throat with a flashlight and way on the back of my tongue are these large white lesions (for lack of better word.) Wondering what it could be. I am taking an oral steroid inhaler for asthma that I know can cause thrush but I do not have the lesions anywhere else.
Understanding ypur concern. As per your complain soreness in the throat indicates infection in the throat mucosa. It seems you had a tonsillar enlargement and a soreness due to it.. And when you ate spicy food stuff it must have irritated the already inflamed gland as well as it could have traumatised the lump due to which the soreness has increased. Medicines you are taking also play role .
I would suggest you to see an ENT specialist and get your throat evaluated for the exact reason of the lump and what is causing you irritation and soreness.
By the time you should avoid all kinds of spicy and hard food stuff.. Take soft and cold food stuffs to give soothing effect to your throat.. Warm saline gargles can can help. Also do betadine gargles once in a day .
Hope your concern has been resolved. Get well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
