What Causes Sore Throat With Burning Sensation Around Torus Palatinus?

I have a Torus Palatinus. for the last week I have had a sore throat and it seems to be kind of a burning sensation around the back of this growth. The pain radiates to my teeth. Seems to be just on the left side. I went to the doctor last week and she put me on a Z-pack. Today was the last day for that, but I am still having symptoms. I'm so scared of cancer.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you have a Strep throat caused by Streptococcus bacteria leading to sore throat and burning sensation and at times there is radiating pain in teeth due to it and burning over the back of the growth is also due to throat infection..
For confirmation you should get a quick strep test done and if bacterial infection is confirmed another course of antibiotics can be taken.
Along with it doing warm saline gargles, taking throat lozenges like Vicks cough drops or Strepsils or Halls can relieve.
Avoid spicy and cold foods..

You should not be worried as Torus Palatinus is a bony overgrowth which is not painful as well as not cancerous..
You can consult a dentist and get evaluated and an oral surgeon can very well remove it by doing a small surgery..

Hope this information helps..

If you find the answer helpful please give me a Five Star Review and click on found the answer helpful as a token of appreciation..

Thanks and regards..
