I've had sore throat for over 1 week. Just in the last 3 days sore throat numb tongue. I went to Doctor yesterday, not my regular doctor. She said that I didn't have strep throat. My blood pressure was High. (176/113) It is alway high when I go to doctor especially when I'm sick. She gave me nothing for my throat. Only low dose of Blood pressure pill to take 1 at night for a week.

Otolaryngologist/ENT Doctor 's  Response
Hi,
I went through the brief clinical history that you provided. I recommend the following -

1. Warm salt water gargles thrice daily for 5 days
2. Anti-inflammatory medications for 3-4 days could be helpful
3. Keep a record of your blood pressure measurements (preferably twice daily) for a week and follow-up with your physician with the record.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Dr. Prasad
