What Causes Sore Throat,stomach Upset And Swelling Of Neck Glands?

I had sex with a prostitute protectd with condom 10 weeks back after 6 week n 3 days i got all stds negative including hiv.after 8 week n 5 days i got fever sorethroat pain in body congested nose and swollen neck glands.and slightly tummy upset fever gone but flu like symptoms are present with neck gland swolling.is it possible that i m having acute symptoms of hiv after 8 weeks i m so tensed help me plz

thank you for query.The chances of transmission of HIV by unprotected vaginal route is 1/ 200 to 1/2000 even if the partner is HIV infected.It is least as you have protected intercourse.so relax and do not worry.The symptoms are non specific and can be due to viral or flu also.This may be due to kiss from the partner or you have contacted it from some other infected person through the respiratory route.as you have got all tests negative for stds you need not bother.it is not clear of which HIV test you have undergone.If it is RNA PCR negative you need not bother about HIV at all.otherwise you can go for this test and rule out HIV.the other symptoms are non specific.You can get back for any clarifications with details.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and venereologist.
