What Causes Sore Tongue Besides Vitamin Deficiency?

My mother is 77 years old. She has developed sores on her tongue. She has described it as a split in the tongue. She was told by her gastrologist that it could be a B12 defienciency. She has had two injections of B12 already and no improvement. Could it be some other issue beside vitamin defienciency?

Tongue soreness most commom reason is vitamins B12 deficincey and folate deficincey. You have to complete course of Vitamine B12 injection first.

check your iron level also sometime iron deficincey also cause soreness in tongue.

Do your complete Blood cell count. In viral infection like hand foot mouth disease sore tongue is present.In scarlet fever strawberry tongu is present.

If you take antibiotics for long period of time that can cuase soreness In tongue.
