Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have soreness above both ears just on the skull. This hurts when I lay my head on the pillow and is just above the ears and goes around slightly to the back of the ear about an inch above the ear itself. I have had fluid in me left ear and taking antibotics for this but a lump came up above the right ear like I had bumped it and was very sore to the touch then a day or two later the left side of my head became sore too but no lump. I have no sharp pain just sore and is uncomfortable to even lay on a pillow.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of soreness above the ears which seems to be due to upper respiratory tract infection and spread of infection from respiratory tract to eustachian tube leading to eustachian tube dysfunction. Need not to worry. You should avoid intake of outside food and avoid cold carbonated beverages. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should go for throat swab test and get blood tests done and start treatment after proper diagnosis. You should do warm saline gargles. You should take steam inhalation. You should take antiallergic medication such as Levocetirizine. Take proper course of antibiotic along with mucolytic agents. Take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
