What Causes Soreness And Inflammation In The Lower Lip?
I woke up at 2am this morning with a really watery mouth and it has stopped me from sleeping.. i have to spit every minute or so.. every time i spit my mouth just fills back up with slava... I also have been licking the inside of my bottum lip and its sore and a little inflamed.. do you think that might have something to do with it?? Is there anyway i can make it stop??
I can understand your concern. It seems that you may have developed an apthous ulcer on the inner side of the lower lip or it is about to develop soon.
When an ulcer develops, tongue keeps touching it frequently as it is a new thing in the mouth and so saliva secretion increases. It is also possible that you may have hurt the lip by some hot or hard food which has made it inflamed.
I would advise you to apply local Benzocaine gel (Mucopain) over the area 3-4 times a day specially before meals for comfortable chewing.
However, if the inflammation does not decrease in 5 days, then you should see a dentist for clinical examination of the oral cavity and further investigations and treatment.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
