What Causes Soreness And Lump Inside Mole After Removing Hair?
I have had a mole on my face since birth, it grows a couple hairs so I always just pluck them out once they start coming through, 3 weeks ago I plucked a hair and the mole was very sore since then, now it s still sore to touch but also there is a lump underneath the mole, its larger then the mole it s self and still hurts.
As per my clinical experience, the lump beneath the mole is secondary bacterial infection as the hair plucked area made a breech in the continuity of the skin surface. Usually this happens with gram positive bacteria as staph aureus or others.
My guidelines at present: - Apply ice over the part 3-4 times a day for 5 minutes duration each - Prescription of antibiotics as amoxicillin or cefadroxil with your doctor for rapid healing of sore area and prevent further spread of possible infection - Intake of tablet ibuprofen (400 mg after meals for 3 times a day preferably with antacid will relieve you from ache
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
