General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
It is not uncommon to experience soreness and pain in the back of the leg after knee surgery. This could be due to a variety of reasons, such as muscle strain, inflammation, or nerve irritation. It is important to follow the post-operative instructions given by your doctor, including icing and elevating the leg, taking any prescribed pain medication, and using crutches as needed. If the pain or soreness persists or becomes worse, or if you experience any other concerning symptoms, it is recommended to contact your doctor for further evaluation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
