What Causes Soreness And Pain In The Abdomen After Appendectomy Surgery?

I had emergency appendectomy surgery on Aug. 21, 2016. Since then I have experienced abdominal soreness and pain. It went away for a short while and now I am experiencing severe soreness and pain along with an extended and swollen abdomen. What should I do and what could this be?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that you have an obstruction due to scar tissue from the surgery

This is one of the possible complications of some surgical procedures involving the abdomen, the formation of scar tissue which can potentially cross the intestines causing blockage.

It can vary from mild to severe and the severity affects treatment needed.

It would be best to see your doctor for assessment.

I hope this helps
