Hi,

Smell of blood in nose is not always a bad thing. It generally indicates that, you have a collapsed or ruptured blood vessel, usually resulting from infection like sinusitis, otitis media, streptococcal infection of throat or mono-infection etc. It generally happens, when our body system fights against infections by production of immune cells from bone marrow and transporting these to the site of infections via blood vessels resulting in permeable vessels to help release the immune cells to the site of infection, resulting in collapse or rupture of these fragile, permeable blood vessels, resulting in a smell of blood in nose.

The treatment of bloody smell in nose may be:
* Steam inhalation 3-4 times a day, to loosen the mucus, thus facilitating its easy clearance from nose.
* Preventing the complete blockage of sinuses by yogas (like procedure of water neti or exercises of lom/vilom etc. under guidance of an expert in the process. Use of valsalva maneuver may also help to open the blocked Eustachian tube.
* Prevent yourself from changing weather and allergens.
* Take complete course of antibiotics or/and decongestants under advice of your doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
