Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have soreness inside both sides of my cheeks. it started with a sore throat that would not go away. It felt like and ulcer in the right side of my neck and back of tongue which is better now. but now the insides of my checks feel swollen and are red and sore. my jawline is tender too.
As per your complain it seems that the soreness inside the cheeks as well as tender jawlines and ulcer like feeling in the tongue and neck can be due to either inflammation inside mouth leading to stomatitis..
It can be due to causes like throat infection leading to inflammation inside mouth, acid reflux, physical trauma, oral infection etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations as per suspected cause can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
As of now you can gargle with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine.. You can also take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.. You can suck ice and gargle with cool water.. You can take a multivitamin Pellet daily.. Avoid spicy and chilled foods and drink plenty of water.. Maintain a good oral hygiene..
Hope this helps..
Thanks and regards.
